Coconut Laddu
Ingredients:
Desiccated coconut: 200 grams (plus extra for rolling)
Condensed milk: 200 grams
Cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon (about 2-3 grams)
Ghee (clarified butter): 10 grams
Sugar (optional): 20 grams (depending on sweetness preference)
Chopped nuts (optional): 10-15 grams (for added crunch)
Instructions:
1. Heat the ghee in a pan on low heat. Add the desiccated coconut and lightly roast it for 2-3 minutes. Stir continuously to avoid burning.
2. Add the condensed milk to the coconut and mix well. Continue cooking on low heat for another 5-7 minutes, until the mixture thickens and starts coming together. If using sugar, add it at this stage.
3. Sprinkle cardamom powder and mix thoroughly. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
4. Shape into laddus: Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, grease your hands with a little ghee, take small portions, and roll them into round balls.
5. Roll the laddus in some extra desiccated coconut for coating. If desired, press a few chopped nuts into the laddus for decoration.
6. Let them set for about 30 minutes before serving.
These laddus can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. Enjoy!
