Dark chocolate sauce

Here’s a simple dark chocolate sauce recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 150g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces for easy melting.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Avoid boiling.
  3. Once the cream is warm, add the chopped chocolate, butter, and sugar to the saucepan.
  4. Stir continuously until the chocolate and butter melt, and the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract if desired. Stir well.
  6. Let the chocolate sauce cool for a few minutes before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
