here’s a simple bolognese sauce recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet or pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, carrots, and celery. Cook until softened.
  2. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, red wine (if using), broth, and tomato paste.
  5. Add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for at least 1 hour. The longer it simmers, the richer the flavors.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve over your favorite pasta.
