Omurice
Omurice Recipe for 4 Servings:
Ingredients:
- 4 cups cooked Japanese rice (preferably a day old)
- 1 cup diced chicken (cooked)
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 large eggs
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add diced chicken to the skillet and cook until it’s no longer pink.
- Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and cook until they are tender.
- Stir in the cooked rice, soy sauce, and ketchup. Mix well until everything is evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Pour the beaten eggs over the rice mixture in the skillet. Allow the eggs to set slightly, then gently fold them into the rice until you achieve a soft, creamy texture.
- Once the eggs are cooked through, divide the omurice among four plates.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
Enjoy your homemade omurice!
