Lachha Paratha, also known as Lachha Roti or Lachhamari, is a popular Indian flatbread. Here’s a simple recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Water (for kneading)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Ghee or oil (for layering)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt.
  2. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic. Let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into golf ball-sized portions and roll each into a small disc.
  4. Brush the disc with ghee or oil and sprinkle with a little flour.
  5. Place another disc on top and repeat the process, creating a stack of layered discs.
  6. Roll out the stacked discs into a thin sheet, taking care not to press too hard.
  7. Heat a griddle or flat pan and cook the rolled-out dough until both sides have golden brown spots.
  8. Brush the cooked paratha with more ghee or oil.
  9. Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.

Enjoy your homemade Lachha Paratha! Serve it with your favorite curry or raita.
