Chicken Katsu Recipe for 4 Servings:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Tonkatsu sauce (or a mix of Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and soy sauce)
  • Shredded cabbage for serving
  • Cooked white rice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
  • Dip in beaten eggs, ensuring even coating.
  • Coat the chicken in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  1. Frying the Chicken:
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry chicken until golden brown on both sides and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes per side).
  • Place fried chicken on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  1. Slice and Serve:
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.
  1. Serve with Accompaniments:
  • Arrange shredded cabbage on plates.
  • Place sliced chicken on top.
  • Drizzle with tonkatsu sauce or a mix of Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and soy sauce.
  1. Complete the Meal:
  • Serve Chicken Katsu with a side of white rice.
  • Garnish with extra tonkatsu sauce if desired.
