VEGAN CHIKEN
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of textured vegetable protein (TVP) or seitan
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the TVP or seitan with vegetable broth and let it rehydrate for about 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, poultry seasoning (if using), salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Drain excess liquid from the rehydrated TVP or seitan and toss it in the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated vegan chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Serve the vegan chicken with your favorite side dishes or use it in sandwiches, salads, or wraps.
