VEGAN CHIKEN

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of textured vegetable protein (TVP) or seitan
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the TVP or seitan with vegetable broth and let it rehydrate for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, poultry seasoning (if using), salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Drain excess liquid from the rehydrated TVP or seitan and toss it in the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated vegan chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Serve the vegan chicken with your favorite side dishes or use it in sandwiches, salads, or wraps.
