CHIKEN KORMA RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, make a smooth paste using yogurt, cashew nuts, poppy seeds, and desiccated coconut.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  5. Add garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Pour in the yogurt paste and cook on low heat until the chicken is tender and the masala is well-cooked. Add water if needed to achieve the desired consistency.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
