HOME MADE ALMOND MILK RECIPE
To make homemade almond milk, you’ll need:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 4 cups water (for soaking)
- 4 cups water (for blending)
- Sweetener to taste (optional), such as honey or maple syrup
- Vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Soak Almonds: Place almonds in a bowl and cover with about an inch of water. Soak overnight or for at least 12 hours.
- Drain and Rinse: Drain and rinse the soaked almonds under cool running water.
- Blend Almonds: In a blender, combine soaked almonds and 4 cups of water. Blend on the highest setting for 2 minutes.
- Strain: Line a bowl with a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, and pour the almond mixture into it. Squeeze and extract as much liquid as possible.
- Sweeten and Flavor: Pour the milk back into the blender and add sweetener and vanilla extract to taste. Blend to combine.
- Store: Store the almond milk in sealed containers in the fridge for up to two days. Shake well before drinking, as it may separate over time.
