Mix berry compote recipe
Here’s a simple mixed berry compote recipe:
Ingredients:
- 200g strawberries, hulled and halved
- 100g blueberries
- 100g raspberries
- 50g blackberries
- 100g granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries release their juices and the sugar dissolves.
- Once the mixture comes to a simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the berries are soft and the liquid has thickened slightly.
- Remove the compote from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the compote to cool before transferring it to a jar or container.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
This compote is versatile and can be used as a topping for pancakes, waffles, yogurt, or ice cream. Adjust the sugar quantity based on your sweetness preference.
