Passionfruit coulis recipe
Here’s a simple recipe for passionfruit coulis:
Ingredients:
- 150g fresh passionfruit pulp (about 6-8 passionfruits)
- 75g granulated sugar
- 30ml water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut the passionfruits in half and scoop out the pulp into a bowl.
- In a saucepan, combine the passionfruit pulp, granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice (if using). Stir well over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. The coulis should thicken slightly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the coulis to cool.
- Once cooled, strain the coulis through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds. Use the back of a spoon to press the mixture through the sieve.
- Transfer the strained coulis into a clean jar or container.
- Refrigerate the passionfruit coulis until ready to use. It can be stored for about a week.
